Underwriting Analyst

My client, an international insurance broker in the heart of Cologne is looking for an Underwriting Analyst to join their team. In this role you collaborate closely with the Underwriter to administer inquiries and renewals, assist in risk analysis, technical pricing, and providing general administrative support.

The Tasks:

·       Conduct pre-underwriting work on submissions, including data analysis, risk assessment, and input into pricing tools.

·       Assist in the renewal process for specific clients or portfolios, drafting policy wordings for approval.

·       Issue policies, certificates, and invoices, ensuring accurate data entry and proper documentation filing.

·       Support credit control process, monitoring endorsement and adjustment premiums, and implementing necessary actions.

·       Communicate with clients and brokers to address queries, gather required information, and promptly resolve issues.

·       Manage and quality control data in databases.

·       Generate reports for underwriters and management, contribute to KPIs, and provide input on tariff and T&C development.

·       Attend client or broker presentations and meetings, establish relationships, and document discussions as needed.

·       Continuously develop technical knowledge through internal or external courses and workshops.

·       Provide assistance to the General Manager and Underwriter on project-related tasks.

The Requirements

·       Previous experience from the Insurance branch

·       Language proficiency in German and English, with additional languages preferred

·       Commercial apprenticeship or University degree in financial services

·       Analytical, communicative, and solution-oriented approach

·       Proficiency in MS Office programs

·       Resilient, goal-oriented, and autonomous functioning

·       Willingness to travel occasionally
